On Monday 27 March 2017, between 21:30 and 23:00, a witness talking with an acquaintance on Le Havre beach glimpsed 5 faint white points flying in a V toward the east, inland. They were visible for only a few seconds before city lights obscured them. The witness alerted the companion, but the companion did not see them in time; beach huts also restricted the view. Only 1 account was collected. An isolated group of 5 birds flying inland in a V is plausible, as developed in the detailed investigation report. The evidence is weak, with little data. The analysis also reveals no strong strangeness beyond the witness's immediate impression, which prompted submission of the GEIPAN questionnaire. The case is classified A as a highly probable bird sighting. The birds could not be formally identified, but their underside plumage reflected urban lights. Their small size, distance and brief visibility prevented a clearer view. GEIPAN's conclusion is category A: birds extremely probable.
