On Thursday 16 November 2017 at about 00:50, a witness went outside to smoke and saw a star-like point of light to the north, white with red within it. It seemed to move right to left, then up and down, somewhat in a circle. The witness watched for 15 minutes, filmed it and went inside without seeing it disappear. Only 1 account was collected.
The evidence is fairly weak. Much information and the video are missing, and the witness remained unreachable when the report was written.
The strangeness chiefly concerns the absence of any conspicuous star to the north that might explain the sighting. The movements could be autokinesis, but the witness also stated that the UAP rose to 90° at the end, contributing to the case's high strangeness.
GEIPAN believes the witness could supply the missing information, but all contact attempts failed. With no response, it cannot reach a conclusion. Under its method, a high-strangeness case also needs strong evidential support to qualify for category D. The video would have been valuable in clarifying the phenomenon and strengthening the evidence.
GEIPAN classifies the case C: insufficient information.
