ARON (53) 28.03.2019

On 28 March 2019 at 23:00 in Aron (53), a witness saw a bright red rectangle in what he described as a clear sky, then several orange discs forming a pyramid-like structure. It rose and disappeared into clouds, leaving for a few seconds traces resembling snow stained with small pink spots. Only 1 account was collected. GEIPAN assesses high strangeness but poor evidential substance and considers the case unsuitable for analysis because of missing data; see the 2024 investigation report. Weather and astronomical details in the questionnaire do not match the verified conditions on the reported date at all. Nevertheless, in an email dated 5 November 2024 the witness insisted he was sure of the date. With only 1 witness, verification cannot go further. Under GEIPAN's methodology, the higher the strangeness, the greater the required amount of reliable, objectively supported information collected for an account. GEIPAN cannot reclassify the case. It remains C: not explainable because of insufficient information.
