CESTAS (33) 15.11.2019

On the evening of 15 November 2019, a motorist leaving work saw many lights in the sky through the car's left window. The witness stopped at the roadside and watched in wonder for 10 minutes. Several moving lights formed a circle, powerful and dazzling like Venus, with a violet-mauve color in the center. The formation then broke up chaotically. The witness took photographs and went home. No other account was collected. Strangeness is low and evidential support good: 1 fairly complete account and photographs. The investigation identifies drones rehearsing for a show (see the investigation report). The account and photographs show a stable geometric figure in the air, followed by a disorderly descent toward the ground. This strongly suggests a choreographed drone display landing shortly before sunset, as the analysis describes the timing. Investigators found that the observation site was a rehearsal field for a company specializing in drone shows. Its color palette includes the violet reported by the witness. A drone rehearsal therefore fully explains the case. The case is classified A: drone misidentification.
