On 6 December 2019 at about 04:25, a witness saw a white-yellow light cross the starry sky very rapidly along a horizontal south-to-north path for about 2 seconds. Only 1 account was collected.
The case has good evidential support: a single witness, but a fairly precise and complete account. The investigation found that a meteor was very probably observed.
The 2-second duration and rapid, straight movement are characteristic of a meteor. Dedicated monitoring networks recorded no fireball at the time, but the UAP's modest brightness, comparable to the stars of Ursa Major, would not have allowed such detection.
The lack of a visible trail does not rule out a shooting star or meteor. Under the reported conditions—30° elevation, horizontal trajectory and brightness like Ursa Major's stars—the source considers a faint trail very probable but not visible to the witness. It explains that the modest elevation and horizontal path imply a considerable distance, with light passing through a thicker atmospheric layer than at the zenith. Atmospheric scattering of the already faint trail light would prevent the witness from distinguishing it.
The case is classified A: meteor sighting.
