MEUNG-SUR-LOIRE (45) 25.03.2021

On 25 March 2021 at 22:15, a witness saw colored lights outline a large moving triangle in the night sky. A faint, low, muffled sound was heard. Only 1 account was collected. The aviation context identifies it without doubt (see the investigation report). The witness found its size, sound and speed unusual, but an A400M such as CUJAS95 has a wingspan exceeding 42 m, length 45 m and height 15 m. Both the National Air Operations Center (CNOA) map and FlightAware confirm the aircraft at about 22:10–22:15. Online searches also found other witnesses. GEIPAN classifies the case A: misidentification of military A400M CUJAS95.
