VERNAJOUL (09) 11.05.2022

On 11 May 2022 around 05:00, a witness outside his home in Vernajoul (09) saw something towards the Plantauren mountain: about 10 white lights, as bright as satellites, described as inclined between roughly 0° and 45°. They moved together south to north, then progressively disappeared one after another. The observation lasted 30 seconds to 1 minute. No other account was collected. GEIPAN identifies a Starlink satellite train, very probably from the Falcon 9 launch of 19 March 2022; see the visibility-track map. The case is classified A: Starlink satellite train.
