In 2025 a witness reported photographs taken on November 7, 2022, at about 10:45 p.m. From a Paris kitchen window, the witness photographed a courtyard illuminated by the full Moon, which was in the frame. A small blue sphere appeared above the opposite buildings. Further photographs showed it too, and the witness later confirmed it on a computer. Although the testimony was late and from one person, two usable photographs gave the case good evidential consistency. GEIPAN's IPACO analysis identified a lens reflection of the overexposed Moon: the artifact lay opposite the bright source about the optical centre. Its round form and the blue, green or red colours characteristic of optical coatings supported that interpretation. The summary points to two analysis annexes and an explanation of optical reflections. Such an artifact appears on the camera display or in the recorded image, rather than as an object visible directly in the scene. GEIPAN classified the case A: lens-reflection artifact.
