Case description
On 25 December 2022 at about 21:45, a witness traveling on the A20 between Brive-la-Gaillarde (19) and Limoges (87), near Uzerche, saw 2 UAPs through the windshield for about 20 seconds. They were round and blue/white/gray. One remained stationary while the other moved in all directions nearby. Both disappeared suddenly when the witness tried to photograph them.
The case has moderate evidential support, with only 1 witness and no photographs or video. GEIPAN defines evidential consistency as the amount of information in an account considered reliable and objectively supported.
The description strongly resembles a skytracer light display: round shapes, blue/white/gray color, stillness and movement in all directions. Relatively low cloud cover also supports this explanation, providing a surface for light projected upward. A local nightclub was open that evening, but it did not have a skytracer (see the investigation report).
As this equipment has become more widely available, its use at a private party, particularly at Christmas, is entirely plausible. However, the lack of other witnesses and the uncertainty about the witness's location prevent formal confirmation or rejection of the hypothesis. It remains probable because the UAPs resemble light projected onto cloud cover.
The case is classified B: probable projected light, possibly from a skytracer.
