[A16] DE MONTMORENCY (95) VERS BEAUVAIS (60) 13.04.2023

On 13 April 2023 at 10:55, a woman driving alone on the A16 from Montmorency (95) towards her home in Beauvais (60) reported an unusually shaped white UAP with pearly reflections. The summary describes an inverted V. It moved slowly along a horizontal, slightly descending path. She supplied a shape sketch and photographs locating the observation site. GEIPAN assesses the evidence as moderate: 1 witness and no UAP photograph or video, but a precise location and sketch. CAPCODA’s radar plot shows a Cessna 152 in the viewing area at the exact reported time, making a circular manoeuvre over the A16, with a left-to-right segment matching the account (see the investigation report). CAPCODA is the air operations planning, command and air-defence centre. The description of a nearly pearly white metallic object matches the aircraft. The reported straight, slow, constant-speed movement and altitude fit a Cessna 152 flight profile. Passing through cumulus probably affected the perceived shape and already small angular size. Car-interior noise may have masked its engine, particularly while the witness concentrated on looking. The case is classified A: Cessna 152 observation.
