Case description
Elizabeth Douglas, forty-nine, reported seeing an unusual object over a Titusville street around 9:15 p.m. on July 20, 1967. The fuller HUMCAT entry says she had stumbled on her lawn and was getting up when she noticed it about two hundred feet away and sixty to seventy feet above the ground. Its dull metallic body resembled a dome on an inverted saucer, with five square windows illuminated by intense white light.
Douglas estimated its diameter at fifty to sixty feet. In one window she described a slender humanoid with an egg-shaped head and long arms raised in front of its body. She reportedly observed that form for roughly two minutes as the object moved slowly past. The shorter NICAP summary also mentions shadowy movements behind other windows, without a definite count of additional occupants.
Her daughter Ingrid, twenty, joined her and saw the object moving away, but HUMCAT explicitly says that Ingrid did not see its occupant. The two observations therefore support different parts of the account. Clark McClelland investigated for NICAP, and a contemporary report entered its files. The dimensions, distance and duration remain witness estimates; no facial detail or extraterrestrial identity was established. The plate labels the difference between the mother's and daughter's observations.
