ANTRAN (86) 29.08.2024

On 29 August 2024 at about 22:40, 2 witnesses in their courtyard in Antran (86) had a prolonged observation of rapidly moving points of light in a slightly cloudy night sky. The points travelled in pairs along 2 parallel paths that appeared, through perspective, to converge at the horizon. GEIPAN finds low strangeness and a moderate amount of reliable, objectively supported information: 2 observers, 1 complete account and no photograph or video. It identifies lights from Futuroscope's night show, La Clé des Songes. Projected from Poitiers, they reflected off cloud above Antran; see the investigation report. The evidential assessment concerns the quantity of such information collected for an account. High cloud over the Poitiers area reflected searchlights and lasers. GEIPAN explains that the lack of particles in the air between ground and clouds made the beams themselves invisible from Antran, leaving only bright patches on the cloud layer visible. The case is classified A: lights from a sound-and-light show reflected on clouds.
