On Saturday 1 March 2025 at 21:20, an Espira-de-l’Agly (66) resident took his dogs out and watched an aerial display of light beams and two white discs for several minutes. He described milky-white rays fanning from a very white round central point; everything occurred in the same place. The case has good evidential substance*: one witness, with many online photographs and videos of the event (see investigation report and video appendix). Investigators identified Aimé Giral stadium 8 km away in the viewing direction, where a rugby match included an impressive sound-and-light show. Multiple motorized skytracer searchlights reflected off clouds and mist. The distance prevented him hearing the show. Smoke effects and fireworks smoke rising through the air intermittently revealed parts of the beams. Scattered clouds brightened their endpoints into white discs, corroborated by another observer’s photographs. Fan-shaped then parallel beam arrangements were part of the display. A spectator’s video from inside the stadium shows the rapid fan effects. His description precisely matches the show by “Dimensions Events,” using lights, fireworks and weatherproof motorized LED moving-head beam fixtures. The source later calls the company “Dimension Events.” Given his home’s position, GEIPAN says he could see similar effects at future nighttime matches covered by that company if mist, clouds or smoke provide a suitable screen.
