Darwin unidentified-object photographs — December 1963

RAAF Base Darwin correspondence in December 1963 forwarded photographs and a covering letter from Cpl A.A. Nyika, a Base Squadron photographer, concerning an unidentified flying object. A later forwarding page states that the objects appearing on the film may have been reflections from a water tower visible in the frame. The preserved source pages do not contain enough detail to reconstruct the exact moment the photographs were taken, so the photographic anomaly and the official proposed explanation are both retained as attributed source information.
