Newstead, Launceston unusual aerial object — about 23 January 1960

On 4 February 1960 RAAF Support Command forwarded a report by R.R. McQuestin concerning an unusual aerial object at Newstead, Launceston. The Department of Civil Aviation had supplied the report and advised that, although the observation date was not written on the report, it would have been about 23 January 1960. The surviving page is a forwarding document rather than the full witness report, so the event chronology cannot be extended beyond the existence, place and approximate date of the reported sighting.
