Joyceville, Ontario entity encounter — August 23, 1967

Stanley Moxon, a twenty-year-old from Toronto driving toward Montreal, reported a green light in a field near Joyceville around four in the morning on August 23, 1967. He turned off his headlights and took a side road for a closer look. When he switched the lights back on, they illuminated a large metallic, greenish, lens-shaped object on or near the ground. Early accounts describe two short, somewhat bulky humanlike figures, about 1.1 to 1.2 metres tall, dressed in white uniforms and helmets. They appeared occupied with work beside the machine. Startled by the headlights, they allegedly jumped or seemed to fly back aboard. The object immediately rose or departed at tremendous speed without an obvious sound. Moxon subsequently reported the event to police. Newspaper coverage is cited from the following day, and a later account says police found no distinctive marks at the supposed site. The imported abstract describes three beings, tripod legs and apparent specimen collecting. Those details are not consistent across the earlier HUMCAT, Lorenzen and Vallée versions, which give two white-suited occupants. The plate follows that earlier count and avoids invented bags, tools or facial characteristics. This remains one person’s reported encounter; police receipt of a report and next-day publicity do not independently validate the object or establish that the figures were extraterrestrial.
