Case description
Francisco Emilio Sola's report belongs to a cluster of observations in the Cofico neighborhood of Salta, Argentina, on July 2, 1968. The initial HUMCAT entry described a boy watching a bright object above a nearby mountain when a luminous, exceptionally tall being appeared a few meters away. It reportedly hung suspended in the air, spun, and rose out of sight beyond the hill.
The catalogue's own corrigenda resolve an important error: the time was 8:15 p.m., rather than the 8:15 a.m. carried into several later databases. Press dispatches cited there spoke of other families reporting the same phenomenon, although their counts and wording differed. A CEFAI retrospective identifies Sola as 14 and adds Corina Robles's garden observation of a large, downward-shining disc followed by a hovering, robotlike figure. Silvia Rosa Olmos and two stonemasons described something similar earlier, at another hill.
These versions should not be compressed into one precisely measured event. Heights range from 2.1 meters in the short catalogue to 2.5–3 meters in other retellings, and the exact connection between object and figure remains uncertain. The plate shows Sola, a luminous humanoid form, and the reported disc in the Salta hills as an acknowledged reconstruction. Facial anatomy, clothing, and the apparent mechanism of hovering were not reliably described.
