Case description
At about 11:25 a.m. on 2 July 1968, fifteen-year-old Oscar H. Iriart was riding near Sierra Chica, Buenos Aires province, when two men beckoned to him. He described them as roughly normal adult height, with short white hair and red clothing. Their lower legs appeared partly transparent. Nearby, in a drainage ditch, stood a small silvery elliptical machine on three short supports.
The fuller account says the men spoke Spanish and promised that the boy would eventually see the world, but that they could not take him then because their load was heavy. One handed him an envelope and asked him to dip it into a puddle. Iriart claimed that neither his hand nor the envelope became wet. A short, crudely written message inside repeated the promised journey. The men entered the machine through its top and it rose vertically at great speed.
Iriart said his horse and dog remained unable to move for several minutes. Three depressions were subsequently reported at the site; a separate group later claimed a low, zigzagging light that night. Police sergeant Raúl Coronel and unidentified military personnel were associated with the inquiry. Flying Saucer Review and HUMCAT preserved the story. The envelope, paralysis and traces are reported elements, not independently established evidence of the extraordinary explanation.
