Mercedes entity encounter — August 12, 1968

The Mercedes entry describes a woman alone at a farmhouse with barking dogs, watching lights and an apparent humanlike visitor. The imported date is August 12, 1968. Investigator Roberto Banchs’s review of the original La Hora story instead gives July 25 and identifies the witness as María Siri, widow of Badano, with four dogs at home. She reported a luminous object near eucalyptus trees, smaller lights moving above them, and another object approaching the house. Later, from a different window, she thought she saw a manlike figure in a highly reflective covering descend from an object farther away. A reddish-blue flash allegedly ended the scene. Small rectangular ground depressions were subsequently reported. Banchs revisited the area in 1992. A local informant recalled a motorcycle explanation, but could not identify its rider; Banchs discussed both the fit and shortcomings of that suggestion. The source does not settle the cause.
