Case description
The brief imported entry gives 5 October 1973 and describes five small orange-clothed figures near an orange dome at Saint-Mathias-de-Chambly, Québec. Fuller accounts place what appears to be the same event on October 6. A married couple identified as Mr. and Mrs. R. first noticed a searchlight-like glow across a field after midnight, then returned to ordinary activities.
Late the following morning, the wife noticed smoke and called her husband. They saw a yellow or orange dome resembling a tent and a smaller square machine resembling a bulldozer near a brook. Five child-sized figures, wearing bright garments and rounded headgear, moved between the two. The couple thought they were scouts and watched only intermittently. About twenty-five minutes later everything was gone; they did not themselves watch a takeoff.
Their daughter later found disturbed vegetation and tracks, and briefly felt ill. Investigators Wido Hoville and Phillippe Blanquidre inspected and photographed marks weeks afterward. No radiation measurement was available to explain the symptoms. The yellow-versus-orange clothing, October 5/6 dates and differing circle measurements remain source conflicts. A neighbor's reported flying 'tent' encouraged a UFO interpretation, but ordinary workers or equipment were not conclusively excluded. Five is the reported figure count, not the number of eyewitnesses.
