Case description
This Cincinnati catalogue entry appears to describe the Covedale report investigated by Leonard Stringfield, involving Mrs. R. Heitfeld and her thirteen-year-old son Carl. Although October 12, 1973, circulated in catalogues, Richard Hall's March 1975 Skylook follow-up explicitly conveyed Stringfield's correction to October 21. The original date remains useful for identifying the record, while the correction belongs in its history.
At about 2:30 a.m., Heitfeld reportedly looked from her trailer and saw six blue-and-silver lights arranged in an arc. She then noticed a grey, roughly human-sized, ape-like figure near a parked car, some forty to fifty feet away. Its face was poorly resolved, with a projecting profile; the account describes jerky arm movements. She woke Carl, who reportedly also looked outside.
The figure appeared within a luminous enclosure resembling a bell jar. That comparison does not establish a literal glass vehicle. A young couple arrived to start a stalled car, and a loud boom or alarm coincided with the lights and figure disappearing. Stringfield associated the episode with a nearby warehouse alarm recorded at 2:27 a.m.; the alarm's electrical trigger did not establish what caused the sighting. The available account supports a reported figure, lights and enclosure, while leaving their physical nature uncertain.
