Omro entity encounter — October 15, 1973

George Willis described an unusual bedroom experience at Omro, Wisconsin, shortly after midnight on 15 October 1973. He said a brief high-pitched sound awakened him and an orange-red glow filled the room. Three short humanoids appeared in front of him. Accounts give their height differently, from roughly one to 1.3 metres in one retelling to four or five feet in another. The figures reportedly had bald, rounded heads, large rounded ears and greyish-white wrinkled surfaces. Their movements seemed jerky and mechanical. Willis said he lost consciousness and next found himself on the floor, propped against a wall and unable to move. He described an oval handheld device that appeared to reveal the bones of his legs, a severe headache and another lapse in awareness. At dawn he found the lights on and the bedclothes folded back. No spacecraft was reported during this experience. The investigation involved MUFON researchers and later Mimi Hynek. Leonard Stringfield reported that she regarded Willis as sincere, while David Webb noted inconsistencies. NICAP dates a report to CUFOS to June 1974, following another incident, so claims that the story demonstrably preceded publicity about Pascagoula cannot be established from this chronology. Sleep-related experience, fabrication and an unexplained encounter remain interpretations rather than resolved findings. The plate selects the initial bedroom appearance, with the witness fully clothed and no examination depicted.
