Case description
A lone swimmer at Hampton Beach reported seeing a 50–60-foot disc approach over the ocean and land during the early hours of May 20, 1974. The craft allegedly had upper and lower domes, a central rim, four padded legs and several lights. It radiated heat and made a pulsing hum. At about 12:30 a.m., a lower hatch opened and a ramp extended.
A roughly six-foot occupant, covered by a bulky, light-colored outfit, appeared at the opening. Two tubes ran from its jaw area toward the rear of the neck, joining a tube down its back. It briefly stepped onto the sand, returned aboard, and the object departed seaward. The witness later described deep pad impressions containing rose-colored paste or liquid. The tide removed most traces by morning.
John Oswald interviewed the witness on May 21. David Webb's contemporary Skylook report stresses that no additional witness emerged and police and Coast Guard checks produced no corresponding report. It also gives the man's age as 32, conflicting with later summaries calling him 20. These are testimony and reported traces, not independently confirmed vehicle or biological evidence. The plate keeps the occupant's face indistinct and shows the swimmer in modest clothing after leaving the water.
