Case description
The NICAP ledger dates this Fairfield, Ohio, report May 22, 1974, at 10 p.m. It describes an oblong or boat-shaped object about 50–60 feet wide, with green and white lights around its lower portion, three or four square windows and a brightly illuminated transparent area above. Two small, dark humanoid forms were reportedly visible in the upper compartment.
A closely matching fuller account, credited to Geri Wilhelm and Leonard Stringfield, is dated December 22, 1974, in Rosales/HUMCAT-derived material. Its witness is an 82-year-old woman identified as Mrs P., who noticed light entering her bedroom. She reportedly watched the object rise and fall over a neighbouring house for approximately 20 minutes, then remain above a church for nearly half an hour. Only the occupants’ upper bodies were seen, in cramped positions, moving their arms repeatedly. The object eventually moved horizontally and accelerated upward.
The shared dimensions, lights, windows and occupants suggest these versions may describe the same report, but the seven-month date discrepancy is unresolved. The Atlas therefore identifies the connection as provisional and uses 1974 on the plate. The figures were dark forms, without a reliable facial or skin description. Moving arms do not establish which controls, if any, were being operated. No approach to the witness, conversation, taking aboard or confirmed physical trace is described.
