Aveley abduction report — October 27, 1974

On October 27, 1974, John and Elaine Day were driving with their children near Aveley, Essex. They encountered an unusual greenish light and a bank of reddish mist across the road. The family car entered the mist, and the adults later believed the journey contained an unexplained gap. Their conscious memory centered on the strange light, altered road environment and confusion about time. Years later, hypnotic-regression sessions produced a much more elaborate account in which the adults were taken aboard a craft and examined by nonhuman figures. Those sessions also introduced philosophical or predictive communication. The Atlas separates that material from the original road recollection. The presence of several family members provides shared context, but not all later details were independently recalled. Hypnosis is vulnerable to suggestion and narrative construction. No photograph or unique physical trace confirms the interior account. CE4 is retained because later testimony alleges transport and examination. The portrait depicts only the car, green light and red mist. It is illustrative, not evidence.
