Fairfield entity encounter — December 22, 1974

An eighty-two-year-old woman, usually identified only as Mrs P, reportedly observed an unusual object from her Fairfield, Ohio, bedroom in 1974. The fuller catalogue account assigns December 22 around 10 p.m. and attributes the investigation to Geri Wilhelm and Leonard Stringfield. A NICAP chronology places a very similar description under May 22, so the date should remain qualified until the original investigation is compared. A light drew her to the window. She described a boatlike or oblong object, estimated at fifty to sixty feet wide, with green and white lights below and several square illuminated windows above. Two small dark humanlike figures appeared waist-up in a bright upper area, moving their arms in confined positions. The object reportedly hovered over a neighbouring house, shifted toward a church, then moved horizontally and rose rapidly. The apparent arm movements do not establish operating levers, and no securely retrieved description resolves faces, clothing or distinctive anatomy. The retrieved catalogue chain also does not provide an authenticated photograph or an independent witness to the occupants.
