St. Omer, Pas-de-Calais, France
Case description
Two young men carrying news copy between Boulogne and Lille reported an encounter near Saint-Omer, Pas-de-Calais, around 11:30 p.m. on August 22, 1975. The fuller HUMCAT-derived account, attributed to investigators Joël Mesnard and Jean-Marie Bigorne, says an unexplained vehicle briefly followed their motorbike before they noticed a light across a field. Their names are not supplied in the recovered summary.
After stopping, they described a yellow-white luminous oval on the ground, approximately three to four metres long. Two roughly two-metre human-shaped forms stood to its right. Both were bright silhouettes: the witnesses resolved no faces, clothing or other anatomical details. When the forms advanced quickly, the couriers rode away. Several kilometres later they reportedly saw the object climb at an angle in their mirror.
The witnesses could not subsequently identify the exact site, limiting investigation. This remains a reported encounter without recovered physical corroboration; a later video retelling is not independent confirmation. The plate combines the two couriers, oval object and two featureless figures at the initial stop. Their appearance, bike and landscape are illustrative. No elaborate alien faces, equipment or landing traces have been added to the sparse description.
