Prospect entity encounter — January 27, 1977

At about one in the morning on January 27, 1977, nineteen-year-old Lee Parrish drove home along Highway 329 near Prospect, Kentucky. He reported a brilliant, rectangular orange-red object above the roadside trees. His radio stopped, the object appeared overhead and then moved away rapidly. When he reached home, his mother noticed his painfully bloodshot eyes. A short drive had taken much longer than expected, and later accounts describe electrical trouble with the Jeep. Parrish contacted UFO investigators and eventually underwent hypnosis to explore the missing interval. Under hypnosis he described being drawn from the vehicle into a circular, white room containing three machine-like forms: one large and dark, one red and one white. He recalled the dark and red forms approaching and touching him, followed by a sensation of warmth and a return to the Jeep. The roadside sighting and arrival home were his conscious memories; the unusual interior and examination came from the later hypnotic account.
