A catalogue account dated 20 March 1977 places an unnamed married couple in sleeping bags beside the ocean at Pebble Beach, California. They reportedly watched a luminous disc approach from offshore. The woman remembered tall, mouthless figures communicating without audible speech and displaying a book. The fuller chronology describes a flat, streamlined black craft and a beam that apparently brought the couple aboard. Her account gives the beings thin, delicate bodies, heights of approximately six and a half to seven feet, hairless heads and unusually long fingers. Their shiny black eyes were rounded toward the nose and did not blink. They wore close-fitting, one-piece garments compared to wetsuits. The interior appeared brightly white and warm, while a table felt very cold. She also described restraints, instruments and a buzzing sound.
