Ste. Dorothee, Quebec, Canada
Case description
Marc Leduc’s original UFO-Québec report describes several observers at Sainte-Dorothée on April 6, 1977, around 7 p.m.: two adults and four children. Gisèle initially saw a brilliant disc from her kitchen, then retreated indoors. The later humanoid observation belongs to two boys, Jos Madison and Alain Narby, rather than to Gisèle’s window view as compressed retellings sometimes imply.
The boys followed the object towards a field and meltwater pond. They said it descended behind a mound, partly hiding its base. A figure then appeared before it, seen from the back and only from the waist upwards. The report and sketch emphasise a shiny red helmet or red light above the head and metallic-looking shoulders. Facial features were not observed. The figure ducked from sight before the object rose and moved away.
Investigators visited the location and attributed parallel marks to motorcycle tyres; other depressions were inconclusive. They also rejected a rumour of a burned hand. These qualifications are important parts of the original investigation. The plate centres on the two boys, the partly obscured disc and rear-view figure, without placing all six observers at the occupant sighting or inventing a visible face.
