Case description
Before dawn on April 7, 1977, sixty-four-year-old Cyril John noticed an unusual light entering his bedroom in Milford Haven. He was preparing for an early journey to London. Looking through the window, he described two separate airborne forms: a silver-gray egg-shaped object and a much taller, apparently humanlike figure.
The egg was estimated at about four feet across, with an orange-red light on top. It gently rocked in the air at a distance given in accounts as roughly sixty yards or metres. The figure appeared nearer, was estimated at seven to eight feet tall, and floated in a posture compared to a free-fall parachutist, with arms extended and legs bent backward. A silver-gray boiler suit and hood concealed its face. No detailed facial anatomy was reported.
John said the forms remained visible for approximately twenty-five to thirty minutes before receding. Randall Jones Pugh’s BUFORA investigation provides a fuller witness account than the short database entry. Sources vary between about 4:45 and 5 a.m., so the scene is presented as predawn rather than with a falsely exact clock time. This was a window observation; the account does not describe John being taken aboard.
