Case description
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on April 12, 1977, two young girls walking beside a Tucson canal reportedly followed a path beneath a highway overpass and up a small hill. Above nearby brush they saw a dark grey, apparently metallic object shaped like a drum. Between four and six long, spiderlike appendages hung beneath it. The object rose slowly and disappeared toward the southeast along a curved route.
Only after its departure, according to the fuller catalogue sequence, did a thin humanlike figure emerge from the bushes below its former position. The figure had long brown hair, a blue upper garment, dark trousers and unusual-looking boots. Five similar but shorter figures followed. They walked quickly away in single file into the desert until the girls could no longer see them. The report does not describe the group boarding the object or approaching the witnesses.
The NICAP chronology and Rosales case 1810 trace this account through Virgilio Sánchez Ocejo’s Destino compilation to APRO material. Later retellings name Andrea Kerlin and Bridget O’Connor, but the accessible catalogue passage does not supply the underlying interviews. The association between the figures and the object is based on their appearing at the same location in succession. No taking aboard, physical examination or missing-time episode is established for this specific sighting.
