Case description
At approximately 1 a.m. on June 24, 1977, A. S. Cruz was returning toward Santo Domingo when he noticed a light over the sea near La Caleta, Dominican Republic. He said it descended toward water level and extended a tube from its underside. He interpreted the activity as taking on seawater and stopped his car to watch.
The fuller INTCAT digest, citing investigator Leonte Objio and Richard Heiden’s APRO account, says the object stopped the suction activity and approached. Cruz then described two beings visible at windows, apparently looking toward him. When he attempted to leave, the car would not start. The imported NICAP version also reports numbness in his arms and legs; these are witness-reported effects, not measured evidence of a cause.
The longer account adds a second similar object and two joined dark tubes or cylinders behind the pair. Cruz reportedly saw the objects disappear into these structures before they moved and vanished. The references lead to APRO Bulletin 30(1), page 6, and Stendek 33, page 5. The illustration condenses the initial coastal observation and approach; occupant faces, exact craft construction and the later cylinder mechanism are not established by the brief source.
