Case description
Monica, twenty-six, and her niece Janine, thirteen, described unusual activity at Monica’s Lindley home during the early hours of July 23, 1977. International UFO Reporter’s original account says they returned from stock-car races at 12:45 a.m. and began watching through an upstairs window around 1:05–1:15, a distinction lost in later summaries.
They reported eleven or twelve star-like moving lights, a separate light appearing on a distant hill and small figures near the creek wearing dark close-fitting suits with glowing green belts. Janine briefly thought one face looked human; Monica resolved no facial details. A red rectangular light approached and receded. The girls also claimed apparent movement of a tombstone and a taller figure calling to the others.
Police found no convincing physical evidence and the tombstone showed no displacement. IUR questioned viewing distance, vegetation and possible misinterpretations; later family observations and the July 25–26 episode were separate. Hypnosis added no information. The plate combines the two window observers, a few indistinct belted figures and reported lights without inventing a structured craft. Counts and positions are illustrative, and claimed effects remain testimony rather than verified levitation or an established extraterrestrial visit.
