Case description
At about 10 p.m. on August 26, 1978, two people travelling by car near Hyannis–Barnstable on Cape Cod reportedly saw an oval-shaped object hovering low over US Route 6. Several rectangular windows were visible, with figures moving back and forth behind them. That is the substantive sequence preserved by the available short catalogue entries.
The references lead from Albert Rosales's humanoid catalogue to Raymond Fowler, but do not identify the two witnesses or supply a precise original publication. No detailed anatomy, clothing, conversation, landing, close approach or physical effect is documented in that entry. A separate database paraphrase changes the setting to the shore, illustrating why additional scene details should not be treated as independently corroborated facts.
Patrick Gross's source review flags the missing primary reference and proposes a possible connection to the Andreasson material, while marking that suggestion as uncertain. That possibility is not a demonstrated hoax finding for these unnamed witnesses. The plate therefore illustrates only the car observation, with two anonymous travellers, an oval craft and indistinct figures behind rectangular windows; it does not give those figures invented alien features.
