Venado Tuerto entity encounter — September 6, 1978

At about 6:45 a.m. on September 6, 1978, twelve-year-old Juan Oscar Pérez reportedly encountered unusual objects while rounding up horses near Venado Tuerto. His frightened horse carried him home, but his father sent him back to finish the task. Returning, the boy said he found a large object on the ground, approximately 30 feet across and 15 feet high, with a hemispherical dome, round windows and coloured lights. The expanded account describes an opening and ladder, with a humanoid over seven feet tall wearing long gloves and a cylindrical helmet, apparently connected to the object by breathing equipment. Pérez said he accepted an invitation to enter. He described tables, controls and a smaller robotlike figure working with animal remains. He then jumped back outside, where the tall figure joined him. At his request it reportedly surrendered a glove, revealing a green hand with blue, conical nails. Pérez claimed an arm puncture during this encounter and said other objects recovered the glove as he rode away. Reported injuries and animal aftereffects remain claims, without an independently available chain of custody for a glove or biological sample. Jacques Vallée investigated the story years later and discussed it in Confrontations; the documentary Testigo de Otro Mundo/Witness of Another World follows Pérez and the experience’s lasting significance to him.
