Case description
A dentist and three students were reportedly driving through the Toquilla area near Tunja on 24 January 1979 when their car’s engine stopped. They then saw two metallic discs land nearby on three-legged supports. A hatch opened in one object and three men emerged, wearing fitted silver-coloured outfits and large helmets. The abbreviated report does not give their faces or identify the witnesses by name.
The continuation preserved in Rosales and Donald Johnson’s accounts says a sudden whirlwind enveloped the vehicle. Dust or swirling air prevented the occupants from seeing the figures and objects. When the disturbance cleared, both craft and their occupants were gone. No conversation, boarding or pursuit is described in this version, and the engine failure is a reported association rather than a demonstrated electromagnetic mechanism.
The cited trail includes investigator Miguel Forero, the Colombian Centro Investigacion OVNI, Larry Hatch’s database and UFO Newsclipping Service number 119. This short 1979 incident should remain distinct from a much more elaborate Toquilla story assigned to January 1990, involving named witnesses, an unstable craft, repairs and alleged landscape damage. A source-comparison page discusses both, which can encourage accidental merging. Those later details cannot safely be imported into this record merely because both concern a dentist, vehicle trouble and two objects in the same general region.
