Isere landing encounter — March 27, 1979

The Tabouret-pond case appears to have acquired an incorrect month in the imported catalogue. GEPAN’s Technical Note 8 dates the relevant Isère observation to November 27, 1979, at about 5:15 p.m., rather than March 27. The principal witness was thirteen-year-old Rosine, with neighbour Lucille providing a later, less detailed observation. Rosine described a luminous object descending across a semi-rural area and coming to rest above rough ground beside a harvested field. In the investigation’s proposed geometric reconstruction it was approximately circular, six metres across and two metres high, with an overall white phosphorescence and small red and white lights. Those dimensions belong to a reconstruction, not direct measurement of a recovered craft. From approximately 125 metres away she also perceived a smaller luminous form interpreted as a person. It was an indistinct lighted silhouette, without a resolved face or clothing. Frightened, she took her little brother to the neighbour, who subsequently noticed a glow. Flattened grass was found at the alleged stopping place, and investigators examined the witnesses’ accounts, site geometry and chronology. The source distinguishes their perceptions from hypotheses about the stimulus. Neither the ground trace nor the figure’s apparent human shape establishes an extraterrestrial occupant.
