Vizcacheras landing encounter — May 1, 1979

On May 1, 1979, the NICAP listing describes a reported landing at the Vizcacheras oilfield in Argentina, an apparent response to lights and traces. Its phrase 'oil held' is evidently a damaged rendering of the setting. A separate Hatch record for the same place and date, at 4 a.m., describes a disc about twenty metres above the oilfield, a response to lights, fused sand and changes in animals' behaviour. It cites the MUFON UFO Journal. Neither stored description supplies an occupant encounter. CE2 therefore replaces CE3 for the NICAP-derived record because of the reported ground effects; the source's entity-category label alone is insufficient. The nature of the sand analysis and animal response remains unestablished. These two entries probably describe the same report, but are retained separately with a source-equivalence link.
