Case description
The inherited entry dates a humanoid sighting to Manila on May 26, 1979, but a contemporary translated UPI dispatch separates two Philippine reports. Its first item describes multicoloured flashes observed over Legaspi, Albay, the previous day. Residents reportedly went into the streets, and a radio-station manager compared the object’s apparent size to a fist at arm’s length. Manila was the dispatch location, not necessarily the observation site.
The same clipping then refers to a different sighting during the previous week. An American scientist and many villagers near a high mountain reportedly watched an object with two antenna-like projections. Using binoculars, the scientist thought he saw movement inside. Other observers interpreted forms near openings as humanlike and described unusual hand-like appendages. A later account places a similar mountain episode near Upper Baracatan in May, without securely connecting every detail to May 26.
The short NICAP chronology combines the antennae and apparent occupants with the May 26 Manila heading. This record retains that catalogue identity while making the source conflict explicit. Neither a precise occupant count nor detailed anatomy can be established from this press chain. The plate is labeled as contextual and uses the mountain/scientist episode; it should not be read as a close landing in metropolitan Manila.
