Case description
A land surveyor named Aleksandr Norin in later compilations reportedly encountered an unusual object while picking mushrooms near Petushka, in the Moscow region, on September 2, 1979, around 5 p.m. The story reached English-language catalogues through Flying Saucer Review and accounts associated with Soviet UFO investigators, rather than an accessible contemporary official case file.
He described a shiny, mushroom-shaped apparatus: a domed upper section surrounded by orange mist and a lower, stem-like portion emitting soft pink light. Flashes allegedly appeared around its edges. Two short, strongly built figures reportedly emerged, with broad shoulders and tight black coverings enclosing their bodies and heads. Only narrow eye-level slits were described, not visible alien faces. Their sounds were compared to birds twittering.
The pair allegedly returned or were drawn back inside before departure. Later summaries claim the soil was sterile, but the available reporting chain does not present sampling controls or analytical results sufficient to evaluate that assertion. The plate reconstructs the mushroom-picker, two covered figures and the described object. It does not treat the soil claim as proof of an extraterrestrial landing, and precise dimensions, likenesses and suit details remain illustrative.
