Pudasjarvi abduction report — April 2, 1980

On April 2, 1980, Aino Ivanoff reportedly encountered unusual fog while driving near Pudasjärvi, Finland. As her car entered the mist, the headlights appeared to be deflected upward. She described a silver, domed object with portholes nearby. An interval of roughly two hours was subsequently missing from her recollection. Later accounts described her being taken from the car to the object, examined on a metal table and returned to the vehicle. Much of the fuller interior narrative was developed during hypnosis. The initial road observations and the later account of an examination should therefore be distinguished. The available summaries do not preserve an uninterrupted conscious account of the whole interval or a precise description of how the object departed.
