Fuentecen landing encounter — February 13, 1981

During the night of February 12–13, 1981, Luis Domínguez Díez and members of his family reported unusual lights near their home and roadside canteen at Fuentecén, Burgos. Accounts describe golden lights over a field, repeated changes of position and excited barking from the dogs. The published times vary between retellings. Domínguez described a metallic, roughly box-shaped figure about a metre and a half high beside a fence. It allegedly had no separate head, arms or feet. A barking-like echo, a crackling response to a flashlight and departing red lights entered the story, followed by photographs and reports of a scorched patch and holes in the ground. Pueblo published the family's account on February 18. A later field investigation by Juan Marcos Gascón, conducted in 1983, reached a hoax conclusion and proposed attracting customers to the family business as the motive. His dossier cited contradictory descriptions, ordinary background radiation in submitted samples, and doubts about the burns and holes. That is an investigator's conclusion, not a documented confession by the family. The plate reconstructs father and son, who reported the box-like form, alongside the field lights and a visible hoax-finding label. The mother reportedly saw lights but not the figure.
