Case description
At about 1:45 a.m. on February 14, 1981, a seventeen-year-old babysitter in Greensburg reported a silent object hovering near treetop height, roughly fifty feet away. Three white lights marked an equilateral triangle. Fuller summaries describe a dark metallic triangular body and a broad window above one light, divided by narrow partitions, with a dim beam extending toward the ground.
Two occupants were reportedly visible: one seated and another standing behind a white panel with dark circular controls. Their heads appeared very large, with slanted eyes, gill-like ears and two openings instead of a projecting nose. The standing figure was further described as having a long thin neck, smooth white skin and pale eyes without visible pupils. The witness felt compelled to keep looking for about fifteen minutes, then returned to the living room; she did not see the object leave.
Diane Enion and another Pennsylvania Center for UFO Research investigator interviewed her the next day. A contemporary April 17 newspaper report records Enion’s concern over vivid details mixed with gaps, uncertainty over the object’s arrival, and confusion about elapsed time. No corroborating witness had come forward. The organization classified the incident as unknown rather than verified. The reconstruction shows the fully clothed babysitter observing from the house and does not imply boarding or abduction.
