Algeciras landing encounter — March 1981

In March 1981 a produce-delivery driver near Algeciras reported lights among eucalyptus trees and a metallic, domed object resting on three telescopic-looking legs. A fuller Spanish account identifies him as forty-two-year-old Juan González Santos, places the encounter near Ventorillo La Leche beside the N340, and gives March 12. He estimated the object at about twelve metres across and approached to within roughly fifty metres. Three front windows reportedly revealed several humanlike figures in brown uniforms and helmets. The driver also described a ladder beneath the object and flashes of light that caused a headache. He did not report the occupants coming out. After an estimated fifteen to twenty minutes, the object was said to become surrounded by a blue haze, retract its supports and depart. A red marking appears in the fuller narrative, but the witness could not recall it clearly enough to reconstruct confidently. The timing is inconsistent: the local narrative gives approximately eleven in the morning, another chronology about 10:30, and INTCAT 22:30. The illustration follows the daylight narrative while its title gives only March 1981. These discrepancies should remain visible rather than being blended into a falsely precise account.
