Case description
Two boys playing in a snow fort behind a home in the Brooklyn area of Michigan reportedly heard humming on 29 December 1981. They saw a disc pass overhead and disappear. The NICAP version places red lights above and several colours below; another compilation describes red underside lights and a flashing coloured central band. Afterward, as the boys prepared to slide down a nearby hill, a short humanlike figure floated over a fence toward them.
One boy shouted and ran, while the other said he could not move. The figure reportedly approached trees, changed its path and continued after them once both boys fled. At the yard boundary it stopped, opened a red diamond-shaped part of its face and produced a moaning sound, then spun with flashes of light. Its head was described as unusually small and round, with green, wrinkled skin. One boy also mentioned a green haze containing indistinct shapes, one apparently masked.
The source trail credits Ron Westrum’s investigation and an APRO Bulletin account, which gives Onsted as the locality. The boys subsequently reported anxiety, with blurred vision also mentioned in a retelling. These remain reported effects. No boarding is described, and a connection between the earlier disc and later figure was inferred. The plate explicitly combines sequential moments rather than claiming all three subjects were observed simultaneously.
