Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut disc-shaped object report — May 1982

The imported catalogue places this report near Comodoro Rivadavia in May 1982. Several Argentine soldiers travelling in a UNIMOG allegedly saw short, large-headed figures running toward a dark disc close to the ground. As their vehicle approached, its engine sputtered. The brief entry supplies no names, detailed facial anatomy or public military report. Gustavo Fernández’s longer account describes three army officers on a night journey in mid-April 1982. Their headlights reportedly illuminated three roughly one-metre beings with disproportionately large crania. The unlit object was said to hover several metres above the terrain, rather than the few centimetres stated in the abbreviated catalogue. A luminous passage descended beneath it; the figures rose through that passage, an opening closed and the object departed. These versions share the vehicle, military witnesses, engine trouble, diminutive figures and nearby craft, but disagree on month and hover height. The fuller writer says names were withheld because the matter was confidential; that assertion does not substitute for an accessible official file. The Atlas therefore retains the conflict rather than presenting a single precise reconstruction as established. It also keeps this incident separate from other Argentine military stories, including the 1978 Pampa Castillo disappearance discussed in the same article. No additional missing-time episode or abduction is documented for these three occupants of the UNIMOG.
