Brooklyn unidentified-object report — June 3, 1982

A young woman in Brooklyn, New York, reportedly awakened at about 4 a.m. on June 3 after hearing a voice slowly call her name. Getting out of bed and looking through the window, she described a large luminous object outside. Two manlike figures appeared to stare toward her from within it, and she could also see a small table. In the longer catalogue version, the figures began moving rapidly back and forth. The observer believed she received a telepathic message before the object changed into something like a brilliant flame and disappeared. The available summary does not provide the message’s words, the woman’s identity, a detailed description of either figure, an independent observer or an investigation of the room and viewing conditions. The imported NICAP entry gives 1982. INTCAT places the same story under a 1992 heading within its 1981–1983 chronology and cites a 1992 Steiger book; this may be a transcription or publication-year confusion, but the underlying account has not resolved it here. The illustration therefore gives June 3 without a definitive year. It depicts an adult observer in ordinary covering clothes, the luminous object and its two humanlike occupants together. Exact faces, clothing and craft construction remain illustrative; no taking or physical examination is described.
