NICAP's November 1983 chronology places a humanoid report at Spencer, Indiana, at dawn, with the reference shorthand “Sympap,84.” It supplies neither an exact day nor a firsthand narrative. The imported first-of-month date is therefore a sorting placeholder, not a documented 1 November encounter. A later compilation adds an account of a man waking before dawn in a cabin, seeing a silent moving beam through a window and then two men outside. It also mentions a memory lapse and labels the incident an abduction, with “Tomey, Roger” attached to the summary. Those details belong to that later source; the original testimony and the cited symposium contribution were not recovered here. No sequence describing physical transport can be established from the brief summary alone.
