A Framingham bedroom encounter is catalogued for approximately 3 a.m. on January 8, 1984. The surviving NICAP summary says a woman observed a short humanoid beside her bed directing a beam toward her. She felt that the figure could read her thoughts. That impression is part of the experience she reported, rather than evidence of a demonstrated communication mechanism. After the figure left, she reportedly observed a small cylindrical object outside. It was estimated at three feet long and eighteen inches across and rose straight into the sky. The sequence links the indoor visitor and the cylinder by their timing, but does not describe the figure entering the object or establish that it was a vehicle large enough to carry a person.
